Comprehensive organizer in the shipping business
In the shipping business, we are involved in marketing general commercial vessels in Japan and overseas, making arrangements for chartering vessels owned by our clients, operating ships, acting as an intermediary for the buying and selling of used vessels, and marketing equipment for vessels to shipbuilding companies. We are also actively pursuing business in the marine energy products field, through joint ownership and operation of liquefied natural Gas (LNG) and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) carriers with our high-quality partners, and ownership and leasing of floating production storage and offloading systems (FPSO/FSO) for oil and gas for use by major overseas oil companies. Furthermore, we are involved in providing various types of financing and in the ownership and operation of general commercial vessels and are fulfilling a role as a comprehensive organizer in shipping and marine related business using our diverse capabilities and comprehensive business strengths.
From next-generation aircraft to diversified financial service
In the aerospace industry, we provide support to Airbus S.A.S. for sales of aircraft to Japanese airlines, and are focusing particularly on marketing the A380 and A350 next-generation aircraft. We are also developing a framework for use of Japanese investment funds to meet the various leasing and financing needs of airline carriers throughout the world. Furthermore, we are involved in aircraft cargo conversion business in which we modify passenger aircraft for use as cargo aircraft, and aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) business, both of which shows firm potential for growth. In helicopter business, we are the sole distributor of helicopters manufactured by Bell Helicopter Textron Inc. of the United States and have sold more than 1,400 helicopters to date. Looking ahead, we also plan to promote tiltrotor-type next-generation vertical takeoff and landing aircraft.
